The Out of Darkness Anchorage Walk will be held at 11 a.m. by the Alaska chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Saturday, September 10th, at Cuddy Family Midtown Park The event brings our communities together and allows us to reflect on how suicide and mental health issues have affected our lives and the lives of those we love and care about.

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that offers confidential emotional assistance to those in suicidal crisis or emotional distress in the United States 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They are dedicated to improving crisis services and suicide prevention by empowering individuals, developing professional best practices, and increasing awareness. When people dial, text, or chat 988, they will be linked to professional counselors in the Lifeline network. These professional counselors will listen, understand how their problems are hurting them, offer assistance, and, if necessary, connect them to resources. Since 2005, the Lifeline network of over 200 crisis centers has been in operation and has shown to be beneficial. The counselors at these local crisis centers are the ones who answer Lifeline's calls every day. Numerous studies have found that callers felt less suicidal, depressed, overwhelmed, and hopeful after consulting with a Lifeline counselor.

These were some of the points discussed in the post. 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a trailblazer in suicide prevention and mental health crisis care. Since its founding, Lifeline has participated in a number of initiatives aimed at improving crisis services and advancing suicide prevention for all, including innovative public messaging, best practices in mental health, and ground-breaking partnerships, and PIMHA is in support of this in which we offer many programs such as SUD/MH Assessments, Counseling, Case Management, Group Therapy, Individual Therapy, and Behavioral Health Screening.
